Hi, I am planning to buy Swiss Half Fare Card and get Swiss Family Card for my son. My questions are, 1. If I buy 1st class Saver day pass for a day when travelling on Golden pass express, does my child need any pass or ticket? Will he be covered in Family Card, when I am using Saver day pass for the journey? 2. If I buy 2nd class Saver day for that day and get point to point class upgrade, do I need to buy anything for my son in this scenario? I understand I need reservations in 1st class for all travellers. But not sure if my son needs Day pass for children? Thanks.

The Family Card effectively extends a ticket or a combination of tickets to a child between 6 and 15.999 years. So no, in both cases, your son does not need a ticket. Just don’t forget that you need seat reservations for both as you mentioned.

Seat reservations aren’t required on the Golden Pass trains. However given how popular the trains are they are probably a good idea.
