Eurail Pass + Swiss Half-Fare Card + Swiss Family Card

If I hold both a Eurail Pass and a Swiss Half-Fare Card + Swiss Family Card, can my child travel for free on Swiss trains (e.g., Lausanne to Lucerne) while I use my Eurail Pass, as long as I possess a Half-Fare Card?
Because the official Swiss Family Card terms state that “children aged 6–16 travel free when accompanied by at least one parent holding a valid Swiss Half-Fare Card” . That says “holding” but not “buying by Swiss half-fare card”. Please tell me the right way officially, thanks.

This is not possible. You would have to use the Swiss Half Fare Card plus regular tickets in order to use the Swiss Family Card. You cannot combine Eurail with the Swiss Travel System offers.

What you could do: purchase the Junior card for CHF 30/child valid one year. Available at the SBB Travel Center only.

What will your child use for travel in the rest of Europe? Normally with an Eurail Pass you get the child pass for free.
