Zurich airport to St Anton

We will be traveling from Zurich airport to St Anton on a weekend in February. Our flight gets in at 10:40 AM. If I buy a ticket for the 12:09 PM train can I take a later train if my flight is late? Are the time or train specific? If not would it be best to buy my tickets in advance or wait till we arrive?

Simply purchase a regular ticket that allows refund and exchange.

By the way, the destination is named ‘Sanct Anton’. English speaking people often mispronounce it, saying: Stanton (as the place in California). Locals here would not understand ‘Stanton’ and meet the question with puzzled looks 🙂 Of course, a railway employee would understand as they are used to this; it creates always big smiles.

Normal tickets are for a route, not a train, so you do not, technically speaking, buy a ticket for the 12:09 train.
(note: railways use the 24 hour clock here, better get used to this :-).
So you buy a normal ticket Zurich - Airport to St. Anton, and you can just take whatever train on that day on that route.

You can buy a discounted ticket that has “train binding”, where you commit to taking a particular train in exchange for a discount, but that would not be a good idea in this case.
