The webpage defaults to showing the lowest price available, including prices that assume that you have the half fare card. If you then during the purchase indicate that you do not have the half fare card you do in deed pay more.
You can on the website switch the price display from “Half Fare” to “Full Price”.
Most regular public transport users in Switzerland have the Half Fare Card, hence the website sets that as the default.
