Good afternoon, I had tickets for the train from Reignier to Grindelwald, for February 16, 2026, departing at 1:48 PM. However, this morning when I checked the SBB app, I saw that the train connecting Geneva and Bern had been cancelled. I had to change my plans, hitchhiking to Neuchâtel and from there taking the train to Grindelwald departing at 4:04 PM on the same day. Would it be possible to get a refund for the ticket initially purchased with order number •••••••••••••?
The new ticket I bought was with order number •••••••••••••

You could have used your ticket to travel to Grindelwald via a different route. There was no need to hitchhike to Neuchatel. There was no need to buy another ticket.
In stead you should have just travelled by train Geneva - Neuchatel - Bern - Interlaken - Grindelwald, possibly with a change in Renens. Your ticket would of course have been valid for the alternative route.

Like with every railway in Europe when there is an interruption you can use your ticket on whatever alternative route you need to use to get to your destination.
