Switzerland Visit from April 25, 2026 to May 1, 2026

Hello, my wife and I are visiting Switzerland from April 25 to May 1, 2026. We will be staying in Interlaken and from there we will visit many towns and villages nearby such as ISETEWALD, BRIENZ, GIMMELWALD & MURREN, LAUTERBRUNNEN & WENGEN, LAUTERBRUNNEN & WENGEN and then ZURICH AIRPORT for our flight on May 2nd. I heard about SWISS TRAVEL PASS and also about the SWISS HALF FARE CARD. The Swiss Travel Pass is much expensive than the Swiss Half Fard Card. What are the advantage and disadvantages between the two? Would it be more practical and better for us if we opt for the SWISS HALF FARE CARD?

It looks like you are following the travel advice from Rick Steves… Not really a travel guide I would follow. Destinations like Gimmelwald you could skip and go to Mürren, for example.

The Swiss Travel Pass is not advisable for the area where you are staying (Bernese Oberland). It does not offer a lot of free travel there.

I would opt for the Swiss Half Fare Card and the Bernese Oberland Pass.

Or the Jungfrau Travel Pass, but it does not include areas like Brienz.

The combination can save money, all depending on your travel plans and what you plan to do there.

Keep in mind, end of April, there could still be snow in elevated areas meaning no green pastures and grazing cows yet.

RolandP thanks. I will do the Bernese Oberland Pass. So, in April 25 to APRIL 30, it is not advisable to go to Gimmelwald? What else from our planned itinerary that is not advisable to visit those days? Are the below destinations still not good visit due to snow not melted yet?

I would not say it is not advisable to go to Gimmeleald. It is a nice place. But it has been hyped a bit. I you are in Mürren by all means walk down to Gimmelwald and have a beer in the Beergarten there. I do this quite often myself.
The thing I would drop from your list is Oeschinensee, as it is quite a trek.
