The chances that somebody who is active in the Community has seen your lost toy are extremely small. You should file a lost report and then be patient - it can take up to three weeks until the toy can be assigned to the report.

I know it’s slim, but I thought I could avoid the ridiculous fee charged by SBB. My toy didn’t cost me more than half their fee. It was on a key chain and must have somehow fell off. Her name’s Bessie, but I don’t think she’s able to respond to her name 🙁 It had already come off earlier today, so I was going to secure her better tonight. It was my moral support while I travel alone in Europe for almost 8 weeks. She’s not worth much, but I do really miss my cheery little companion.

Someone has to treat your lost property (report). And this is not for free. It is an extra effort that is not covered by the ticket purchase.

In Australia people hand things in if they want to, and you go ask for it back. There is no cost involved. It is just a reflection of the extreme greed of Switzerland.

In Switzerland, thousands of items get lost on public transport every day. There is a special lost & found storage center with staff who do nothing else than matching & dispatching lost items. This people earn a salary (as you do, most likely).

The fee of CHF 20 is quite moderate if you consider what value the item means for you.

I would conversely say, if I may, that asking online for volounteers to give you a service which normally costs is a reflection of extreme greed of you.

I understand, because you can’t drive like other countries and must use trains for transport, resulting in higher volume of lost things. I still find it strange that so many items would be lost or left behind requiring dedicated staff. My item fell off, I didn’t leave it. I feel that this service is just a cash cow, as SBB can already afford the staff with the fees they charge for commuting.

You’ve got the issues here in Switzerland. Kindness and goodwill doesn’t cost anything. It’s sadly lacking in this country, and you’re a great example of it.
