Adding a bicycle booking to my existing reservation

Hi! I just booked a train ticket for myself from Zürich to Milano in July. The booking page said that a bicycle reservation is possible and required. But I’ve now booked the ticket for myself, with a seat booked, and was never given the option to add my bicycle. What should I do? Thanks.

Ex-Bähnler Thank you! The short answer: I cannot add a bicycle to my existing SBB booking. What I need to do is make the booking through Trenitalia, and add a bicycle to the booking before I make the payment. Thanks again!

Taking a bicycle on EC train is not an easy undertake, you might find your spot occuppied by tons of luggage.

It is possibly easier (and less stressful) to travel with the IC2 to Lugano and then using RE80 train for Milan. But, this trip cannot be done with an EC train ticket on the Italy part.

Therefore, when travelling with a bicycle, it is advisable to get first the bicycle ticket & reservation and then the ticket for oneself. Otherwise you end up in the situation that you have got a train ticket but not bicycle space…
