Hi, i have a problem , and i know no one will help
Me because you people like to make us pay for absolutely anything . I took the wrong train but going at the same destination at Genève airport , they said i need to take it from another lane and i saw its at the same time and same destination i thought it’s my train. They made me pay 120 chf because it was another number of train , they are not normal people in this country , everything is an issue and you have to pay . I know my comment won’t make any change but because of this kind of things we loose Faith in humanity everyday more and more

Thanks for respecting the fact that we are not the SBB customer service. We are the SBB Community, a support page run by volunteering travel experts.

Supersaver tickets are cheaper than regular tickets, yet they do come with some strings attached, such as valid for a certain train only. That’s part of the deal and you acknowledged it wile purchase. Also, on the ticket the connection is clearly mentioned ‘Only valid for…’, thus you cannot claim that you did not know.

You broke the deal, thus you faced a surcharge.

In my opinion, it is all transparent, even for someone that is not using the public transit often - see the screenshot below.

Your story is hard to parse.

When you say “take it from another lane” do you mean another line, or another track? And who are the “they” that told you?

Maybe tell us the whole story. What train did you select when you booked your ticket? From which station? At what time? And which train did you end up on in stead?

I can imagine passengers unfamiliar with Swiss railways to get confused. Now that SBB sells tickets with train binding they should do as other railways in Europe, and put the actual train nr. on both the ticket and the departure board. That is what people expect after all.

Hi RolandP I’ll say this one more time . The line 2 for geneve airport , where i was supposed to wait for the train , and where i knew i cant take another train , it said i need to change to the line 1 , which was going also to Geneva at the same time, i don’t read french so i saw number one and Geneva airport , i saw that the line 1 has a train for Geneva airport same time as my train , so i took it thinking its a changing and its normal. They didn’t even thought of considering its a mistake and i wouldn’t do a stupid stuff like taking the same train for the same destination just for the fun of taking a fine. I did not knew that was not my train , i did knew i cant take a train at another time , but that train had the same destination at the exact same Time , anyway even you are Defending a broken system who likes to take youre money as if it’s Monopoly money , so what i can say more , its just sad .

You claim you had to take line 1 (I’ll interpret this as line IC1, as this is the only train with the number 1 running to Geneva Airport), which departs always at xx.28. There are no other trains scheduled to depart at xx.28 to Geneva Airport (not even to any other destination…) and given the departure time shown on the departure boards is always the scheduled one, I question how you ended up in a different train departing at the same time, but both to Geneva Airport?

Still, what to display on the departure board is not SBB’s decision, it is the authority’s (BAV) and Alliance SwissPass decision; it is applicable to all train operators in Switzerland.

I am pretty sure that in the Alliance SwissPass (another bad choice for a name in my opinion) the opinion of the SBB carries substantial weight…
