I am writing to formally appeal a surcharge I received on a train from Lausanne to Interlaken via Bern on [22.04.2026].
After arriving in Lausanne from Paris, we had a very tight 8-minute transfer at Bern station. At the time, we were carrying heavy luggage, and one of my travel companions was suffering from severe motion sickness. As this was my first time traveling on a Swiss train, I was unfamiliar with the class markings and unintentionally boarded a 1st class carriage while rushing.
When the ticket inspector arrived, I immediately explained the situation and offered to relocate to 2nd class right away. However, the inspector was very aggressive and insisted that I pay the surcharge immediately, refusing my request to move.
I believe this was an honest mistake caused by health issues, heavy luggage, and a short transfer window. I kindly request a review of this case and a refund of the surcharge.
Thank you.
