Refund tickets

I was wondering how long it usually takes to have tickets refunded ? I booked my tickets on May 1st , but asked a refund the same day (because of a wrong date). Since then, my tickets show "Refund requested’, but nothing seems to happen.

The refund is done within a few days provided the tickets do fulfill the refund conditions. See:

Meanwhile I received my refund. It was done via my credit card, so I didn’t notice until today.

PS. A suggestion for SBB: if people book a return ticket, kindly ask the DAY of the return trip and do not ‘assume’ that it is the same day 😀

The only return tickets that the SBB sells are day returns. If you return on another day you just buy two singles.

Most travellers return on the same day. Imagine the complexity in the process if every traveller who is purchasing a ticket has to choose two dates although the return trip is on the same day …

Indeed, you are right.
I guess my confusion existed because I first booked the ICE-trains from Brussels to Basel. And Deutsche Bahn indeed explicitly asks for the return date. But of course these are long haul ICE-trips that may take up to 8 hours or more and then indeed it makes sense to ask for a return date.
Anyhow thanks again for all your help !

If you are travelling from Brussels to somewhere in Switzerland via Basel you should not buy separate tickets. You can buy a ticket from any station in Belgium to any station in Switzerland on DB. I do that quite regularly.
