I contacted my bank with RolandP’s suggestion and they removed the 3D security ID from my Visa card on a temporary basis, whilst I tried, once again, to purchase an online ticket.
Sadly, the same message appeared, “This payment could not be finalised. Please check your card details”
My bank believes that this is a problem within the Swiss Rail side, as my bank has not been notified of a credit card payment problem, as would normally be the case.
I have used the same card to purchase a rail ticket with a U K train on the same day without any issues.
Is there any other way to pay for a ticket, other than going to a Swiss ticket office, or using the other methods outlined on the payment page, which i don’t have access to?
