FRIENDS DAY PASS : TIRANO-ST MORITZ

Hi everyone,
I’m planning to travel from Tirano to St. Moritz via the Bernina route on the regional train, and I’m a bit confused about the ticket coverage. Does anyone know if the Friends Travel Day Pass is valid for this journey on the regional train?
I understand that Tirano is in Italy, so I’m not sure whether the pass covers the full route from Tirano to St. Moritz or only the Swiss section. Has anyone used this pass on this route before?
I’d really appreciate any help or confirmation.

The pass covers the entire route. The RhB line from Tirano to st. Moritz is considered Swiss in its entire length. (there are only a few km. in Italy anyway…)

Is it possible to reserve or purchase seats for this specific route, or are seats on the regional trains generally open seating?

Yes, it is now possible to reserve seats on the regional trains:

https://www.rhb.ch/en/tickets/bernina-line-reservations/

This is recommended on the peak periods (weekends, holidays), otherwise the access can be denied if the trains are full.

To be exact, seats can be reserved on regional trains only on this particular Bernina route, not generally.
Relevant is the ‘R’ symbol for a connection in the online timetable, meaning ‘seat reservation possible’ (while PR means mandatory reservations in panoramic coaches).
