Group luggage porterage at Zurich and Lausanne train station

Hello everyone,
Can you please advise who should I contact for porterage of luggage from train to coach at Lausanne and Zurich. It is for a group handled by a tour operator.

SBB doesn’t offer porterage of luggage. I suggest to contact the coach company. BTW, I don’t know where coaches can stop at Lausanne station. The access is very limited due to engineering works. It could be easier to change at Renens VD. In my opinion a porterage of luggage is unnecessary.

So, there is no possibility to have on-demand porters to escort groups and collect their bags in a luggage cart authorised to transit on platform, from train to bus pick up/drop off outside station (or vice versa)?

There haven’t been porters in Swiss train stations for 50 years, and I’ve never seen a private company offering this service. It would be difficult because they would have to use the elevators, which have limited capacity, and could be a security problem for other travelers. You may have hundreds of people waiting on a platform. In the past, porters were allowed to cross the tracks or to use special underground passages reserved for staff. Suitcases are now equipped with wheels, so it’s no longer an issue.

No, I do not think that is possible. You can send luggage between some stations and sometimes also from and to some hotels if that helps you.

Getting the luggage from the carousel at the airport to the train is easy. Everyone in the group takes their suitcase, and rolls it to the train, and takes it with them on the train. Then at the other end everyone again takes their suitcase to the coach.

I see groups of tourists boarding coaches here all the time. Everyone taking their own suitcase to the coach is how it has been done here for ages.
