"Seat reservation only" when choosing ticket type not appearing

Hello there, I am planning trip around Switzerland from abroad and thus for me best is Interrail ticket. However at one point of journey-from Brig to Milano by EC65, I cant select Seat reservation only ticket. Interrail should be valid on that train since it is normal SBB service and thus I only need seat reservation, but such option doesnt exist, despite every tutorial or official FAQ shows that there is. Any ideas how to solve this without encountering troubles later when travelling?

Seat resevations are not available from SBB for international trips. Please see the Interrail FAQ. You shall use RailEurope for seat reservations if available at all.

I forgot something, If you have a One Country Pass for Switzerland, it is valid only until Domodossola, After this station, you need a Trenitalia ticket, even though SBB rolling stock is used in Italy.

I travel on an Interrail Global Pass quite regularly. I reserve my seats on Rail Europe for Italian (as well as French and Spanish) trains, as it works better, and is cheaper than the Interrail reservation service.

Unfortunately Rail Europe is no longer cheaper, they introduced a 2€ fee for each reservation.

Interrail also has a fee. And one advantage of Rail Europe is that you can do Interrail reservations without having an actual pass. Good if (like me) you tend to wait with buying a pass in order to take advantage of discounts.

Sorry to contradict you again, but Rail Europe generally requires a pass number to reserve a seat. However, this pass doesn’t need to be activated. I believe there are exceptions, such as Spain.

For Italy, you can reserve seats without a fee and without a pass number through ÖBB. To my knowledge, ÖBB reservations cannot be imported into the Trenitalia app and modified online.

That appears to have changed indeed. It used to be possible to do reservations without a pass, as I have done before. But at least you can still look up prices.
