Swiss Travel Pass and Florence

Hello,

I have a valid Swiss Travel Pass. Now, I would like to order train tickets from Lucerne to Florence, Italy. When I order the tickets through SBB.ch, I noted that there is an option of Discount card under passengers, but the choice of discount card does not show Swiss Travel Pass, then how can I make use of STP when ordering tickets from Lucerne to Florence?

I suggest you to select GA 2 or 1 Class. This is the equivalent for the validity on the tracks.
Correct @Superuser ? Does @Fooyejoak47 can profite of more benefits with STP?

If you go to this card, you will notice no difference on the validity till Chiasso (southern boarder)

After booking, simply present your Swiss Travel Pass to the conductor for the Swiss portion of the journey.

To be clear, the discount “GA 2nd/1st class” can only be used for international tickets to Italy. It is not allowed for other countries, because you could obtain discounts which are valid only for GA holders. It is not possible to use this discount for Saver Day Passes. Only following travelcards/passes are allowed:

The GA is an equivalent to the STP for residents, valid typically for 1 year. It is much more widely used than the STP, which could explain why the STP is not explicitely listed as discount option in some ticketing systems.
Same applies e.g. for the Saver Day Pass, which is basically a ‘GA for one day’.

Nope, the Saver Day Pass cannot be declared as GA. Passengers must purchase tickets for Italy from Chiasso, with the disadvantage of no possibility to make seat reservations for the Swiss stretch.

Given all the confusion isn’t it about time that SBB added the STP and HFC as possible reductions to the list you can select when booking?
